Welcome to Umato. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Umato website, mobile application, and related services (the "Service").

By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

1. Service Description

Umato is a personalized food recommendation platform that learns your unique taste preferences to suggest dishes and restaurants you'll love using machine learning algorithms.

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA) to use Umato. When creating an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Keep your password confidential and secure
• Notify us immediately of unauthorized account use

3. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (ratings, reviews, photos). By submitting content, you grant Umato a license to:

• Display your reviews and ratings to other users
• Use your data to improve recommendation algorithms (anonymized)
• Moderate and remove content that violates these Terms

Content Standards: All content must be truthful, lawful, and not infringe on third-party rights.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent reviews
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Scrape, crawl, or extract data using automated tools (bots, scrapers)
• Use automated systems to access the Service
• Harvest user information, ratings, or restaurant data
• Reverse engineer or decompile any part of the Service
• Manipulate ratings or recommendations

5. Privacy and Data Protection

Our collection and use of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy. We comply with GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable privacy laws.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

The Service and all content (software, logos, trademarks, design) are owned by Umato and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Service.

7. Recommendations and Disclaimers

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMERS:

• Dietary Restrictions: While we allow you to specify allergies, you are solely responsible for verifying food safety. Always confirm ingredients with the restaurant.
• No Guarantees: Recommendations are suggestions only. We cannot guarantee satisfaction.
• No Medical Advice: Umato does not provide nutritional or health advice.

8. Payment Terms (If Applicable)

Umato is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features, terms will be updated and communicated in advance.

9. Disclaimers and Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

We do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• Accuracy of recommendations
• Security from viruses or harmful components

10. Limitation of Liability

UMATO IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.

Our total liability will not exceed the greater of $100 or amounts you paid in the last 12 months.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Umato harmless from claims arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights.

12. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or at our discretion.

13. Dispute Resolution

Binding Arbitration: Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court, except for small claims or intellectual property disputes.

Class Action Waiver: You agree to resolve disputes individually, not as part of a class action.

Opt-Out: You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days by emailing legal@umato.app.

14. Governing Law
